Easy to get up and running, new feature surprise
First impression – wow. Easy to set up and configure. Excellent user guide, almost didn’t need it. Got it updated and running in no time. My truck has a power outlet that stays on constantly, but ordered an OBD switched power adaptor. I intend to use the “parking mode” feature. I was even more pleased to find that the firmware upgrade made the REAR facing camera detect motion – tried it and got a perfect video of me stealing stuff from myself. Connection to a Windows 10 laptop was seamless, and videos are clear and sharp.I bought the GPS bracket, and think it a shame the power port is on top when the suction cup is engaged. Luckily my windshield is large and there is enough space directly below the mirror to attach the mount. I get a perfect view from the rear and forward cameras. Kinda feel bad for people with more slanted or smaller windshields. It will be interesting to try this in our Convertible.Haven’t road tested it yet, but will update after I do. Outstanding device.Promised an update:Tested this camera in all sorts of situations over the last couple days. I find that I cannot read license plates in ANY resolution at any HZ while moving. Lenses are spotless, I clean them before putting them on. My windshield is also very clean. Next, I found out that the latest update (VTN2Pro8F.V21 IQ) eliminates the ability to turn on-auto-off the IR Lights, pressing Power just turns the unit off. I am stuck with a Black-and-white rear camera. Picture quality is great, but B/W.Another issue I found is that the Camera “Falses” in the daytime if left on to protect my vehicle. It takes many short clips which show nothing moving, front or rear. I have had this problem with some Deer cameras, and there is an adjustment for sensitivity. The Vantrue N2 Pro does not have any adjustment for movement detection. Expect your card to fill up fast with useless snippets. At night it works very well, but I have not tried it in a city situation with moving cars.Do yourself a favor and download the CARDV player from Vantrue – it is very good. shows map, camera view, and x/y/z graph of motion, along with a button to grab a snapshot. Doesn’t download Bing map for some reason tho.Last problem – it is illegal in MANY states to mount ANYTHING on your window. Check your laws. Mine is no exception. I am going to have to mount this camera on the dashboard. Luckily I can still use the GPS suction mount with a dash mount disk as my dash is angled up enough to make the camera level. The nature of the mount is such that should you have to flip it over you cannot point the camera ahead/level or up. The shaft attached to the ball won’t allow it. Some sort of sticky dash GPS mount would really help. The N2 Pro is a great camera – I am keeping mine and may update this again. It is not a “be all end all” camera – that is pretty much a chimera, but it is great value for the money, easy to use and set up.

Extremely Impressed and Still Running After 5 years
The media could not be loaded.
I’ve been running this dash camera since 2018, and it still runs great. Although it’s rare when needed, but it has been truly helpful in the rare circumstance, for example accidents and debris hitting my vehicle. The quality of the camera is great, and it is extremely easy to use. I rarely write reviews, but this dash camera has extremely impressed me. The only issue I had was the suction cup against the window eventually failed causing the camera to fall off the windshield, but 3M adhesive tape fixed it without issues. I highly recommend it, see my attached video of the quality.

Glad I didn’t spend the extra on 4k
I am a rideshare driver and got this Camara for liability purposes. I am the kinda of guy who likes the newest bells and whistles when it comes to tech. I did research on dozens of dashcams. I kept ending up on the VanTrue models. I almost went with the 4k version “just to be safe.” Ultimately, I decided to go with the n2 and figured I’d return it if I wasn’t satisfied. Needless to say, I’m beyond satasfied. The quality is beyond what most anyone would need. It pics up audio and video very well at night. The one caveat being that if you have interior lights it will make the interior camera “wash out,” because it uses inferred. However, that is not unique to this model. Any interior camera that uses night vision uses the same. In the end, it records enough so that I cover myself of any liability that can come from passengers making false claims or damaging my vehicle. The exterior cam is plenty clear to see license plates. I actually witnessed a hit and run in a gas station parking lot a couple of weeks after getting it. It recorded it and was able to get the cop the license plate. Was pretty cool. I personally bought the hardwire kit because I don’t like cords everywhere. Parking mode is kinda silly for most instances. I’m not going to leave the cam in my car for long periods of time. It doesn’t upload to a cloud so if someone wanted to steal it, it’d be relatively easy. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. If you think you need an Uber expensive, pun intended, camera I’d check this one out first.
